Welcome to Holy Trinity!

I wish to personally thank you for your interest in Holy Trinity Lutheran School. We are excited to be able to share what our school has to offer your family. Our highest priority is to provide your child with a complete Christian education for this life and for eternity.

Here are a few things we’d like to share about our school:

  • We have been educating students for over 50 years in the Grand Rapids community.

  • We provide a Christ-centered and grace-filled environment that is safe and nurturing for all our students.

  • Our academic curriculum meets students where they are, as we provide personalized attention for each student.

  • Our small classroom sizes allow for the needed one-on-one time that your children need and deserve.
  • Our students enjoy a rich variety of extra-curricular activities.

  • Our faculty is committed to providing regular parent/teacher communication.

We’d love to support your family with all of these things, too! Come visit our school by scheduling a tour. I would be happy to show you our campus and answer your questions about how a Christian education can benefit your child academically, physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Meet Our Faculty

Keri Eubank, Childcare Director and Teacher

I earned my Child Development Certification specializing in Early Childhood from Grand Rapids Community College. I am currently working towards my Synod Certification from Martin Luther College. I have been at Holy Trinity since 2016 working in the Early Childhood Program. In my spare time I love spending time with my husband Nick, our two boys Connor and Evan, and our little dog Izzy. I also enjoy camping and reading. One of the best things about my job is watching children grow socially, emotionally, but most importantly spiritually by learning about their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. One of my favorite passages is from Isaiah 43:1 “Do not fear for I have redeemed you, I have called you by name; you are mine.”

Jodi Grant, Kindergarten-2nd Grade

I earned my BS in Education from Doctor Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN and later earned my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education at Grand Valley State University. I love spending time with my family, playing piano, reading, and playing with my family’s miniature dachshund, Fritz. I love working with children and helping them grow in many ways, especially in their love for the Lord.

Jean Yax, 3rd-5th Grade

I have been teaching at Holy Trinity Lutheran School since 2003. Previous to that, I taught the Michigan School Readiness Program, a preschool for at-risk children. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Grand Valley State University, my Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Western Michigan University, and Synod Certification from Martin Luther College. I like to use a sense of humor in teaching to try to make learning enjoyable for my students. We work hard in my classroom, but we have fun doing it!

Luke Scherschel, Principal, 6th-8th Grade

I majored in Elementary and Secondary Education and English at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN. I am currently working towards my Masters Degree in Educational Leadership through Martin Luther College. Prior to serving at Holy Trinity, I was principal and 5th-8th grade teacher for 15 years at Zion Lutheran School in Toledo, OH. In my free time I enjoy reading, watching football (go Seahawks!) and basketball (go Gonzaga!), working on home projects and woodworking, and spending time with my wife, Rachel, and our son, David. I take great joy in working with students and watching them grow as Jesus’s disciples.

Kris Smith, Preschool Teacher and Secretary

My joy is serving our Heavenly Father working with families here at Holy Trinity . I look forward to meeting your family.

My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed. Psalm 71:23

Rev. Steve Schamber, Pastor

I graduated from Northwestern College in Watertown, WI with a Bachelor of Arts degree and from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. Prior to serving at Holy Trinity I was pastor at Faith, Tacoma, WA and a pastor at Zion, Rhinelander, WI. In my free time I enjoy hiking, skiing, and doing some woodworking in addition to spending time with my wife, Robin, and our boys, Stephen II, Mark, and Joel whenever we can get together with them. I have enjoyed teaching Catechism classes in my various congregations for the past 29 years.
